Description: Cleveland right-hander Brett Myers (elbow) will pitch out of the bullpen when he returns from the disabled list.
Insight: Myers was placed on the DL on April 21 with a mild tear of his UCL and opted for rehab instead of Tommy John surgery. Myers hasn't been effective as a starter since 2010 anyway, so fantasy owners won't be hurt by this decision. He can be dropped in all leagues.

Description: Cleveland starter Brett Myers (elbow) has been shut down for 5-7 days with right elbow soreness, according to Paul Hoynes of the Cleveland Plain Dealer.
Insight: Myers was placed on the DL on April 21 with a mild tear of his UCL, so this is a sign that rehab is not working. He could be headed for Tommy John surgery.

Description: Cleveland starter Brett Myers (elbow) is expected to begin a rehab assignment with Double-A Akron on Friday, according to mlb.com
Insight: Myers was placed on the DL on April 21 with a mild tear of his UCL. When healthy he can be a viable fantasy starter and could rack up a few wins behind the Indians' offense.

Description: Cleveland starter Brett Myers (elbow) has been playing long toss and is hoping to be back on the mound in a week. SOURCE: Cleveland Plain Dealer
Insight: Myers was placed on the DL on April 21 with a mild tear of his UCL. He's trying to pitch through it, but as we saw with Chad Billingsley, rehab usually doesn't work in the long run with that type of injury.

Description: Cleveland starter Brett Myers has been placed on the 15-day DL with forearm soreness.
Insight: Forearm soreness can sometimes be indicative of an elbow issue. Corey Kluber will join the rotation and has some AL-only value.
4/20/2013 6:17:00 PM
Description: Cleveland starter Brett Myers will have an MRI on his right forearm Sunday, according to Paul Hoynes of the Cleveland Plain Dealer. Myers left Friday's start after five innings due to forearm soreness.
Insight: Forearm soreness can sometimes be indicative of an elbow issue. The MRI should give us more information.

Description: Cleveland starter Brett Myers dropped Sunday's game to the White Sox but he was in six innings of work. Myers gave up six hits, one walk, a homer and two earned while striking out four.
Insight: He was starting for the first time since giving up four homers and seven runs in five innings at Toronto on April 4. Myers relieved Carlos Carrasco after the latter had been ejected Tuesday against the Yankees and allowed 11 hits, three homers and seven earned in 5 1/3 innings.

Description: The Indians turned to Wednesday's scheduled starter Brett Myers to pitch after Carlos Carrasco was ejected Tuesday night for hitting Kevin Youkilis.
Insight: Myers allowed four homers, seven hits and seven runs over five innings in his first start of the season. The team will have to look for another starter for Wednesday's game against the Yankees.

Description: The Indians have reportedly signed right-hander Brett Myers to a one-year deal with a club option for 2014. SOURCE: Jon Heyman, CBS Sports
Insight: Myers saved 19 games with a 3.52 ERA for the Astros last season before being traded to the White Sox prior to the trade deadline. He threw 34 2/3 innings for Chicago, registering a 3.12 ERA. Myers will likely slide into the starting rotation for Cleveland, but he'll have to pitch closer to 2010 -- 14-8, 3.14 ERA -- than 2011 -- 7-14, 4.46 ERA -- if he's going to be a fantasy option. With Justin Masterson, Ubaldo Jimenez and Trevor Bauer locked into the top three spots in the Indians' rotation and Myers presumably taking the fourth, Carlos Carrasco, Zach McAllister and David Huff will likely compete for the fifth spot.

Description: According to Ken Rosenthal of Fox Sports, the White Sox have acquired Astros closer Brett Myers.
Insight: Myers (19 saves, 3.52 ERA) has been a near-lock to be traded to a contender since the season started, but it was assumed that he would end up in middle relief. With Chicago, Myers has a chance to assume the closer role as current White Sox closer Addison Reed has blown two saves and allowed three runs in his last five appearances and has a 4.24 ERA on the year.
6/28/2012 11:10:00 PM
Description: Astros closer Brett Myers had a disasterous outing Thursday against San Diego, but five of the six runs he allowed were unearned due to an error.
Insight: Myers entered with a 3-1 lead and allowed four hits, including a grand slam. The Astros closer had a similar appearance on June 18 when he allowed five runs on eight hits in 2/3 innings. Fantasy owners were lucky Myers was able to escape with just one earned run allowed Thursday. Myers may only have one month left as a closer, as Houston may choose to deal him to a contender looking for middle relief help at the trade deadline.

Description: Brett Myers saved his second game of the season on Saturday after Marlins closer Heath Bell blew it in the top of the ninth.
Insight: Myers struck out two in a 1-2-3 inning, showing Bell how it's done. Myers is one of the only veterans on the Astros' pitching staff, so he's a candidate for a midseason trade to a contender, which would likely cost him his closer role. Enjoy the value while it lasts.
4/17/2011 8:35:00 PM
Description: Astros SP Brett Myers posted a quality start, allowing 3 runs over 6 innings but lost the win when the Astros bullpen coughed up 5 runs. Myers allowed 8 hits and walked 2 while striking out 5.
Insight: While he is pitching well Myers has allowed 4 homers in 4 games so he is not exactly helping himself. Keep him active in all formats but expect a lower win total because of the Astros weaker offense and bullpen.
4/1/2011 3:12:00 PM
Description: Astros SP Brett Myers allowed 2 runs (1 earned) on 3 hits and 3 walks and took a no decision as the Astros bullpen could not hold the lead.
Insight: Myers did not strike out a batter, which is a bit surprising, but deserved a much better result.
3/21/2011 5:34:00 PM
Description: Brett Myers gave up 12 hits and walked three in 5 innings of work today against Detroit.
Insight: This is a very ugly outing and hopefully one that doesn't carry over for Myers who is usually a reliable starter for a bad team.
3/18/2011 1:12:00 PM
Description: Brett Myers will start the Houston Astros' season opener in Philadelphia.
Insight: Myers is still underrated heading into 2011 and should be a solid #3 starting pitcher in mixed leagues.
3/18/2011 1:01:00 PM
Description: The Astros have announced Myers as their opening-day starter.
Insight: Myers isn't exactly the ideal ace at this point, but he was pretty good in 2010. The veteran righty produced a 3.14 ERA in a career-high 223.1 innings. His HR/flyball rate was inordinately low, though, which leaves some room for downside if it normalizes, especially in a homer-happy park. (RapidDraft.com)
3/16/2011 6:28:00 PM
Description: Brett Myers gave up 5 earned runs on Wednesday against the Nationals.
Insight: Myers pitched very well last, but his win totals should be low playing for a sub par team. Look to grab him in the middle to late rounds.
3/7/2011 6:20:00 AM
Description: Brett Myers is on the Yankees radar as a rotation option.
SOURCE: NY POST
Insight: A deal with Houston and New York could work. With Houston in a rebuilding mode, a couple prospects for Myers could be a good deal for both sides.
