Insight: He'll earn $10 million in 2014. Haren went 10-14 with a 4.67 ERA and 1.238 WHIP in Washington last season. Haren hasn't been fantasy-relevant in a few years but at least he's been able to stay healthy (30 or more starts in each of his last three seasons).

Description: Washington would make Dan Haren available in a trade but only for a large amount of prospects. SOURCE: St. Louis Post-Dispatch
Insight: Haren (8-11, 4.66 ERA) has been pitching better lately but it's unlikely any team would empty out their farm sytem to get him. The Nationals have until the end of the month to work out a deal.

Description: Washington righthander Dan Haren will come off the DL as soon as he's eligible to on Monday. SOURCE: Dan Kolko, MASN
Insight: Haren (4-9, 6.15 ERA) was placed on the DL because of shoulder inflammation though we suspect the real reason was to give him a few weeks off to clear his head. We don't have high hopes for him Monday against the Phillies.

Description: Nationals pitcher Dan Haren (shoulder) threw a bullpen session Sunday, according to Mark Zuckerman of CSNWashington.com.
Insight: Haren is on the DL with shoulder inflammation and currently has no timetable for his return. He has gone 4-9 with a 6.15 ERA and a 1.44 WHIP this season and has allowed 19 homers in 82 innings, so there's no need to leave him on the roster or take up a DL spot while he's out.

Description: Nationals pitcher Dan Haren has been placed on the 15-day disabled list with shoulder inflammation.
Insight: Haren has gone 4-9 with a 6.15 ERA and a 1.44 WHIP this season and has allowed 19 homers in 82 innings, so he won't be missed while he's out for a few weeks.

Description: Nationals pitcher Dan Haren will undergo an MRI this week to determine if there is anything major behind his shoulder stiffness, according to Amanda Comak of the Washington Times.
Insight: The team announced that Haren will be placed on the disabled list even though the pitcher said he doesn't think this is anything serious. He's just 4-9 with a 6.15 ERA and a 1.44 WHIP this season and has allowed 19 homers in 82 innings, so it's not hard to see why the Nats aren't hesitant to place him on the DL.

Description: Nationals starter Dan Haren gave up five earned runs on seven hits (3 HR) in four innings Wednesday against the Mets.
Insight: Haren has walked just nine batters in 67 2/3 innings this season, but that's because batters haven't been waiting to pound his hittable stuff. He has allowed 15 homers and owns a 5.45 ERA this season. Fantasy owners shouldn't hold onto the past; he's safe to drop.

Insight: Haren allowed 38 hits and 17 earned runs in 24 1/3 innings over his first five starts this season, and he's still a risky play until he provides some consistency. Two quality starts in a row is a nice place to start.
4/16/2013 10:25:00 PM
Description: Nationals starter Dan Haren gave up seven hits, seven runs (three earned) and one homer in 4 1/3 innings at Miami Tuesday night.
