Description: Another day, another homer for Chris Davis.
Insight: Davis (.337) launched his 24th jack of the season to lead off the second inning Monday against the Tigers. That gives him four long balls in his last six outings. He could have 30 homers before the All-Star break.

6/16/2013 7:17:00 PM
Description: Orioles first baseman Chris Davis went yard for the 23rd time Sunday against the Red Sox.
Insight: He finished the series with two homers and six RBI. With 23 blasts and 60 RBI through his first 69 games, it begs the question: why is Davis still getting pitches to hit? It's only a matter of time before American League pitchers wisen up and start giving Davis the Barry Bonds treatment. Fantasy owners can expect plenty of free passes for Davis (.335) in the coming weeks.

6/16/2013 10:34:00 AM
Description: Baltimore slugger Chris Davis has never had a hit in 13 career at-bats against Boston's Jon Lester.
Insight: Davis has cooled off lately, hitting .176 (6-for-34) with two homers, five RBI and 12 strikeouts over his last nine games. A meeting with Lester Sunday likely won't help him reverse course.

Hot6/15/2013 10:39:00 AM
Description: Baltimore slugger Chris Davis is a career .471 hitter (8-for-17) against Boston starter John Lackey.
Insight: It seems that everything he gets up into the air leaves the park. Add in a favorable matchup and Davis (.337, 22 HR, 57 RBI) is a must start.

6/12/2013 6:48:00 PM
Description: Baltimore slugger Chris Davis snapped out of his recent slump with two hits, a homer and two RBI Wednesday against the Angels.
Insight: Davis went 0-for-15 with six K from June 7-10, but he has gone 3-for-6 with two walks over his last two games. The first baseman had some lengthy slumps last season, so if this is the worst it is going to get, fantasy owners will take it.

6/9/2013 6:54:00 PM
Description: Baltimore slugger Chris Davis went 0-for-5 with two strikeouts Sunday.
Insight: Davis has avoided a major slump until now, but he is 0-for-12 with six K over his last three games.

6/8/2013 10:41:00 AM
Description: Baltimore slugger Chris Davis is a career .455 hitter (10-for-22) against Tampa Bay Jeremy Hellickson.
Insight: Davis has gone four games without hitting a home run and has just one in his last seven contests, but still leads the majors in homers with 20. This matchup might get him going again.

Hot6/2/2013 7:20:00 PM
Description: Chris Davis won the race to 20 homers. He reached that number Sunday in a win against Detroit.
Insight: It's only June but Davis is already separating himself from the rest of the field in the American League MVP race. He's first or second in the league in just about every major offensive category including home runs (20, first), RBI (52, second) and batting average (.357, second).

Hot5/29/2013 10:16:00 PM
Description: Orioles first baseman Chris Davis came, saw and conquered Wednesday against the Nationals. He went 4-for-4 with a pair of homers, three RBI and three runs.
Insight: We knew Davis would make it difficult for Miguel Cabrera to earn the Triple Crown again by keeping pace in homers and RBI, but he's also hitting .359. He's leading the majors with 19 homers and is second only to Cabrera in all of baseball with 50 RBI.

5/27/2013 9:59:00 AM
Description: Hot-hitting Baltimore first baseman Chris Davis has only faced Nationals lefty Gio Gonzalez four times, but he's yet to produce a hit and has struck out three times.
Insight: The slugger has an AL-leading 16 homers and is batting .337 with a 1.153 OPS, but is much less a threat against left-handers (.271, .878 OPS). Beware of this matchup.

Hot5/24/2013 10:31:00 PM
Description: Baltimore first baseman Chris Davis has crushed seven homers over his last 14 games.
Insight: He went 3-for-4 with a solo shot Friday, the third straight game he has homered. The slugger has an AL-leading 16 homers and is hitting .337. His power might be the sole thing standing between Miguel Cabrera and a second straight Triple Crown.

5/23/2013 11:37:00 AM
Description: Baltimore first baseman Chris Davis hasn't had much success against Blue Jays righthander Brandon Morrow. In 14 at bats, he's only managed two hits while striking out eight times.
Insight: That computes to a .143 average. We wouldn't expect Davis (.329, 14 HR, 43 RBI) to add to his league-leading home run total on Thursday night.

Hot5/22/2013 10:24:00 PM
Description: Orioles first baseman Chris Davis went 4-for-4 with a homer and two RBI Wednesday against the Yankees.
Insight: Davis is now hitting .303 with five homers and 15 RBI in May after batting .348 with nine homers and 28 RBI last month. He still is striking out a lot, but his K rate is down from 30.1 percent last year to 24.5 percent and his walk rate is up from 6.6 percent to 12.8 percent.

Hot5/17/2013 9:38:00 AM
Description: Baltimore first baseman Chris Davis is a career .444 hitter (8-for-18) versus Tampa Bay right-hander Jeremy Hellickson with a home run and a 1.167 OPS.
Insight: Davis leads the American League with 11 HRs, a .659 slugging percentage and a 1.067 OPS and this favorable matchup should add to those totals. He's a must start.

5/12/2013 8:31:00 PM
Description: O's first baseman Chris Davis bopped his 11th homer Sunday in a win over Minnesota.
Insight: That extends his hit streak to four games. During the streak, Davis has racked up five extra base hits and seven RBI. His .313 batting average this season is a career high.

5/5/2013 1:58:00 PM
Description: Orioles first baseman Chris Davis (knee) is back in the lineup Sunday, according to Brittany Ghiroli of MLB.com.
Insight: Davis was hoping to be back Tuesday after Baltimore's scheduled off day Monday, but apparently he feels good enough to go Sunday. He only ended up missing one game after leaving Friday with knee soreness.

5/4/2013 9:06:00 PM
Description: Orioles first baseman Chris Davis (knee) is dealing with tendinitis in his right knee, but there is nothing structurally wrong, according to Brittany Ghiroli of MLB.com. Davis hopes to play Tuesday.
Insight: Davis was feeling better Saturday after suffering a right knee injury while trying to beat out a groundout in the fifth inning Friday. The Orioles have a scheduled off day Monday, so Davis may only have to miss two games with the injury.

5/4/2013 4:48:00 PM
Description: Orioles first baseman Chris Davis (knee) is expected to avoid the disabled list, according to Brittany Ghiroli of MLB.com.
Insight: Davis was feeling better Saturday after suffering a right knee injury while trying to beat out a groundout in the fifth inning Friday. He's considered day-to-day, and it's likely he'll be out of the lineup Sunday as well with an off day scheduled Monday.

5/4/2013 11:07:00 AM
Description: Orioles' first baseman Chris Davis is expected to miss Saturday's game against the LA Angels with a sore right knee.
Insight: Davis is off to a flying start, batting .330 with a league-leading nine homers, 29 RBI and a 1.121 OPS, but left Friday's game in the fifth inning due to the injury and will get an MRI on Saturday. We should know a lot more after that examination, but this would be a huge loss to the Orioles and fantasy owners if he's out for a long period of time.

4/13/2013 9:57:00 AM
Description: Orioles' first baseman Chris Davis is a career .188 hitter (3-for-16) with six strikeouts versus Yankees starter Phil Hughes.
Insight: Davis is off to a flying start, batting .412 with six homers, 19 RBI and a 1.529 OPS, but this matchup isn't a good one.
