Description: Cardinals closer Trevor Rosenthal has given up just one run on six hits while recording a 16/4 K/BB in his last 11 innings, dropping his ERA from 4.98 to 3.58 in the process.
Insight: The flamethrower started to get back on track when he threw 3 2/3 scoreless innings from May 15-17, but for some reason manager Mike Matheny decided to use Rosenthal a fourth consecutive day on May 18 and he blew a save. Since then, however, he's been nearly untouchable. He saved his 19th game of the season Saturday against the Nationals.

Description: Cardinals closer Trevor Rosenthal blew his first save of the season Wednesday against the Cubs.
Insight: Rosenthal has a 5.19 ERA and a 1.50 WHIP this season, but he managed to avoid blowing a save until Wednesday. He's allowed seven hits, walked four and given up three runs over four innings in May. The right-hander isn't in danger of losing his job right now, but Jason Motte could challenge him if he continues to struggle. Motte is expected to return from Tommy John surgery in the next week or so.

Insight: He gave up two runs in a 5-1 game on April 7 and three runs over two innings in a tie game to lose Friday night. The Cubs got to him for a run on two hits Sunday but he finished off the 6-4 win. The 23-year-old should get things figured out and is in no danger of losing his job.

Description: Cardinals closer Trevor Rosenthal will throw live batting practice Wednesday, according to Jenifer Langosch of mlb.com.
Insight: It's his final test as he attempts to return from a strained groin. Rosenthal averaged 96.4 mph with his fastball last season and should have great success as St. Louis' closer after assuming the role in late September and handling it through the postseason.

Description: Trevor Rosenthal will continue to close for the Cardinals in 2014. SOURCE: Derrick Goold, St. Louis Post-Dispatch
Insight: Rosenthal was the setup man for most of the year before taking over for Edward Mujica late in the season. His fastball is extremely potent, often reaching triple-digits on the radar gun. We'd expect the righthander to have a phenomenal season at the back of the St. Louis bullpen.

Description: Cardinals closer Trevor Rosenthal struck out the side in the ninth inning of Game 2 versus Boston. It took just 11 pitches.
Insight: Throughout the season we were wondering why he didn't own the closer job over Edward Mujica. Now that he's grabbed it, there is no way anyone else closes for St. Louis in 2014.
