Description: Dodgers pitcher Clayton Kershaw was named the winner of the 2014 National League MVP award.
Insight: After taking home the NL Cy Young on Wednesday, Kershaw capped off his stellas season with the MVP award on Thursday. He is the best pitcher in baseball.

10/7/2014 8:15:00 PM
Description: Dodgers pitcher Clayton Kershaw dominates through six, then blows lead in seventh.
Insight: He had given up only one hit through six innings, but gave up the big three-run homer to Matt Adams in the seventh. Officially Kershaw went six innings (pitched into seventh), allowing three runs on four hits and two walks, while striking out nine. He is now 1-5 during his postseason career.

10/6/2014 7:06:00 PM
Description: Dodgers pitcher Clayton Kershaw will start Game 4 of the NLDS on short rest.
Insight: Game 4 is on Tuesday, and Don Mattingly did not want to wait to make the announcement. If the series goes to five games, Zack Greinke would get the nod, in the decisive game.

10/3/2014 10:37:00 PM
Description: Dodgers pitcher Clayton Kershaw falls apart in seventh inning versus St. Louis.
Insight: He was cruising along during Game 1 of the NLDS, but uncharacteristically could not stop the bleeding during the top half of the seventh. Kershaw went 6 2/3 innings, allowing eight runs on eight hits, while striking out 10. He will hope to get another opportunity to redeem himself this postseason. Kershaw is now 1-4 over his career during postseason play.

Description: Dodgers pitcher Clayton Kershaw was 1-0 with a 1.93 ERA and 1.000 WHIP in 14 IP against the Cardinals this season.
Insight: On the other hand, Kershaw struggled against the Cardinals in the 2013 NLCS going 0-2 with a 6.30 ERA and 1.500 WHIP. Which Kershaw will take the mound tonight?

9/30/2014 8:52:00 PM
Description: Dodgers pitcher Clayton Kershaw will likely pitch on short rest in a potential NLDS Game 4 according to ESPN Los Angeles.
Insight: If Don Mattingly could, he would pitch Kershaw everyday. In a 5-game series, it makes the Dodgers awfully tough to beat when Kershaw is pitching two of the first four games of the series. Throw in the fact that Zach Greinke pitches Game 2, it is virtually impossible to win just two games and force a Game 5. This strategy worked last year, so why not try it again against the Cardinals, the team that knocked the Dodgers out in the NLCS a year ago.

9/25/2014 9:33:00 AM
Description: Dodgers pitcher Clayton Kershaw pretty much clinched the NL West by himself on Wednesday.
Insight: Kershaw pitched eight innings, allowing one run, but he also hit a triple and showcased a fantastic glove in the field. On the mound, Kershaw struck out 11 and walked none to win a league-high 21st game of the season. The 21 victories ties a career-high Kershaw set in 2011. He is 21-3 with a 1.77 ERA, 0.86 WHIP and 239 strikeouts in 198 1/3 innings this year. He is a shoe-in for his third Cy Young. The better question is will he also win the National League MVP.

9/19/2014 6:53:00 PM
Description: Dodgers pitcher Clayton Kershaw won his 20th game of the season on Friday.
Insight: Kershaw actually had one of his worst starts of the season but still captured the victory over the Cubs. He allowed three runs in five innings, gave up seven hits and three walks. He did strikeout nine. Despite the poor start by his standards, his ERA is still 1.80 with one start left in the regular season.

Hot9/19/2014 11:49:00 AM
Description: Dodgers pitcher Clayton Kershaw might be tested by the weather this afternoon as much as the Chicago Cubs lineup.
Insight: The Dodgers' ace is 19-3 with a 1.70 ERA and 219 strikeouts in 185 1/3 innings pitched this year, but the wind will be blowing out to left at around 13 mph Friday afternoon. Just something to consider.

9/14/2014 7:31:00 PM

Kershaw has pitched at least eight innings in his last seven starts. The Dodger ace is 19-3 with a 1.70 ERA and 219 strikeouts in 185 1/3 innings pitched this year. Kershaw is 14-3 with a 1.86 ERA and 0.839 OPS for the season, but just 1-1 with a 2.63 ERA and 0.92 OPS in his last three starts.

Description: Dodgers starter Clayton Kershaw allowed a hit to the second batter he faced Tuesday at Kansas City but threw eight scoreless innings in a 2-0 win.
Insight: Kershaw threw a no-hitter his last time out and now has a 2.24 ERA, a 0.91 WHIP and a 94/9 K/BB. His 11.7 K/9 and 1.12 BB/9 are both career bests.

5/23/2014 9:51:00 AM
Description: Dodgers starter Clayton Kershaw took a ball off his right shin in Wednesday's batting practice, but is expected to take his turn in the rotation Friday in Philadelphia.
Insight: Kershaw had a 1.74 ERA and a 25/1 K/BB in his first three starts this season, but Arizona treated him badly in his last outing. Wild fluctuations can happen when you have just four starts. He'll try to chip away at his 4.43 ERA and 1.34 WHIP.

5/17/2014 10:17:00 PM
Description: Dodgers starter Clayton Kershaw had one of the uglier games of his career Saturday, allowing seven earned runs on six hits in 1 2/3 innings against the Diamondbacks.
Insight: Kershaw had a 1.74 ERA and a 25/1 K/BB in his first three starts this season, but Arizona treated him to an early shower Saturday. Kershaw didn't allow more than five earned runs in any regular season start last year. In fact, there were two months in which he gave up less than seven earned runs. He'll try to chip away at his 4.43 ERA and 1.34 WHIP at Philadelphia his next time out.

5/6/2014 10:29:00 PM
Description: In his first start in the United States in 2014, Dodgers LHP Clayton Kershaw tossed seven scoreless innings and struck out nine Tuesday at Washington.
Insight: Kershaw allowed one run in 6 2/3 innings on March 22 against Arizona in Australia but went on the DL with a teres major muscle (upper back) strain soon thereafter. The 2013 NL Cy Young Award winner threw 200+ innings and struck out 200+ batters in each of the last four seasons and had aan ERA below 3.00 in each of the last five.
