Description: Jed Lowrie is headed to Oakland. The shortstop was acquired from Houston Monday as part of a five-player deal.
Insight: The Astros received first baseman Chris Carter, catcher Max Stassi and righthander Brad Peacock. Righthander Fernando Rodriguez will join Lowrie in Oakland. Lowrie isn't a superstar but at the same time, you aren't going to find many shortstops who are better than him (.244, 16 HR, 42 RBI in 97 games last season).
