Miami, FL (Sports Network) - Chase Utley tripled home the go-ahead run with two outs in the top of the 10th inning, and the visiting Philadelphia Phillies topped the sputtering Miami Marlins, 3-1, in the opener of a three-game series.
Ben Revere hit a one-out single off Miami reliever Jon Rauch (0-1) and raced home when Utley ripped a ball into the right-field corner.
After Rauch intentionally walked Ryan Howard, who doubled twice, Michael Young provided more breathing with an RBI single. Young hit a grounder up the middle and Marlins shortstop Adeiny Hechavarria made a great play to keep it in the infield. He flipped the ball to second, but Donovan Solano failed to get his foot on the base before Howard arrived.
Jonathan Papelbon earned his second save of the season by retiring the Marlins in order in the bottom of the 10th.
