NCAA Game Summary - Texas-Arlington at Oklahoma

Norman, OK ( - Cameron Clark scored 31 points as the Oklahoma Sooners held on for a 91-89 victory over the Texas-Arlington Mavericks in a non-conference bout at the Lloyd Noble Center.

Clark knocked down 11-of-18 shots from the floor, including 5-of-7 from 3-point range for Oklahoma (10-1). Buddy Hield added 19 points, Ryan Spangler tacked on 16 and Jordan Woodard made up for a 2-of-9 shooting effort with 12 assists. The Sooners have won seven-straight games.

Reger Dowell poured in 30 points, thanks in large part to five 3-pointers for Texas-Arlington (4-7). Jamel Outler registered 17 points, Brandon Edwards chipped in 12 and Anthony Walker chimed in with 11 for Mavericks, who had a brief two-game win streak come to an end.

By shooting 46.3 percent from the floor, including 6-of-13 from beyond the arc, the Sooners led 45-41 at the end of the first half. The Mavericks connected on 48.6 percent from the field, but had only 4-of-14 attempts from 3-point range fall.

An 8-2 run from the Sooners late in the second half broke an 81-81 tie. The Mavericks clawed their way back, tying the game, 89-89, after a pair of free throws from Edwards with 42 seconds to play. Clark answered with two free throws of his own with just under 10 seconds left. Edwards got off a shot in the final seconds but it was off the mark.

Texas-Arlington lost despite a 40-24 advantage on scoring in the paint. Oklahoma had a 16-8 edge from the free-throw line. Oklahoma is now a perfect 7-0 against Texas-Arlington all-time.
