Chestnut Hill, MA (Sports Network) - Olivier Hanlan scored a team-high 19 points, including the go-ahead free throw with less than 20 seconds remaining, to lift the Boston College Eagles to a 50-49 victory over the Auburn Tigers on Wednesday at Silvio O. Conte Forum.
Joe Rahon donated 15 points for the Eagles (2-3), who improved to 2-0 at home this season.
Frankie Sullivan scored a game-high 23 points and grabbed eight boards, while Rob Chubb chipped in 12 points for the Tigers (2-3), who have dropped two straight.
Rahon's layup gave Boston College a 49-45 edge with 1:04 remaining, but Sullivan answered at the other end, as he converted a four-point play by knocking down a 3-pointer and burying the subsequent free throw to knot the game.
After a Boston College timeout, Hanlan was fouled and hit 1-of-2 from the charity stripe to put the Eagles ahead by one.
Sullivan had a chance to put the Tigers in front at the other end, but his 3- point try was off the mark and the Eagles held on for the victory.
