St. Bonaventure, NY (Sports Network) - Semaj Christon recorded a double-double with 19 points and 10 assists for the Xavier Musketeers as they defeated the St. Bonaventure Bonnies, 66-64, in exciting Atlantic-10 Conference action at the Reilly Center.
Christon was 6-of-14 from the field for the Musketeers (10-6, 3-0 A-10), who won their third in a row. Brad Redford added 17 points, knocking down 5-of-11 3-point attempts, while Travis Taylor contributed 11 points and seven rebounds on 5-of-6 shooting from the floor.
Youssou Ndoye scored 16 points off the bench for the Bonnies (7-9, 0-3), who lost their sixth consecutive game. Eric Mosley scored 13 points while Chris Johnson and Demitrius Conger added 11 points each. Conger led the squad in rebounding with seven.
Xavier led 31-27 at the conclusion of the first half after earning a 17-11 rebounding edge to help offset which offset the Bonnies to shooting 52.4 percent from the field.
St. Bonnies outscored the Musketeers, 37-35, in the second half after shooting 52.2 percent from the field. The game was tight until the end but after Christon hit a jumper with five seconds left to give the Musketeers a two- point lead, Charlon Kloof's layup attempt to tie the game for the Bonnies was blocked by Landen Amos.
Xavier outrebounding the Bonnies, 33-23, to remain undefeated in conference play.
