Asheville, NC (Sports Network) - Jake Cohen scored 24 points to lead the top- seeded Davidson Wildcats to am 83-67 victory over the North Division's second- seeded Elon Phoenix in the semifinal round of the Southern Conference Tournament at the U.S. Cellular Center.
De'Mon Brooks finished with 20 points and six rebounds for Davidson (24-7), which will advance to the Championship Game where they will face the Western Carolina Catamounts on Monday. Chris Czerapowicz added 12 points in the Wildcats' fourth straight victory.
Jack Isenbarger paced Elon (15-16) with 22 points. Lucas Troutman contributed 18 points while Ryley Beaumont grabbed 10 rebounds.
The Wildcats took a 39-33 lead into halftime after they shot 42.9 percent from the floor and drained 4-of-12 from beyond the arc in the opening period. Elon made 43.3 percent of its field goal in the first half, but attempted five less shots than its opponent.
Davidson ran away with it after the break by shooting 51.2 percent from the field and converting 13-of-17 at the charity stripe in the final 20 minutes.
Although the Phoenix only turned the ball over eight times, Davidson's offense turned the ball over just five times.
