Nashville, TN (Sports Network) - Kevin Murphy scored 24 points to lead the Tennessee Tech Golden Eagles to a 77-73 victory over the Southeast Missouri State Redhawks in the quarterfinal round of the Ohio Valley Conference Tournament at Municipal Auditorium.
Jud Dillard added 18 points and pulled down a team-high nine rebounds to help pace the fourth-seeded TTU (19-12), while Zach Bailey checked in from off the bench to log 10 points. Zac Swansey came up a point shy of a double-double as he handed out a game-high 12 assists.
Tyler Stone finished with a double-double of 24 points and 11 boards to lead the way for fifth-seeded SEMO (15-16), which also got 16 points apiece from Nick Niemczyk and Corey Wilford.
The Redhawks were kept in check to the tune of 36.7 percent from the field during the first period of play, opening a commanding 42-27 halftime lead for TTU.
The Golden Eagles then hit a blistering 61.9 percent of their attempts from the floor over the final 20 minutes, helping to stave a late SEMO rally and preserve a four-point win.
TTU advances to the semifinal round and will face the top-seeded Murray State Racers on Friday night.
