Clarksville, TN (Sports Network) - TyShwan Edmondson came off the bench to score 23 points as the Austin Peay Governors took down the Youngstown State Penguins 71-68 in a BracketBusters game at the Dunn Center.
Josh Terry scored 14 points while draining 10-of-10 from the free-throw line for Austin Peay (10-19). Melvin Baker and John Fraley each ripped down 13 rebounds for the Governors, who notched their first win in the last six games.
For Youngstown State (14-13), Kedrick Perry scored 20 points and Damian Eargle tallied a double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds. DuShawn Brooks added 13 points and Blake Allen chipped in 10 for the Penguins, who have lost three of their last four.
Youngstown State was able to take a 33-28 lead into halftime behind 42.9 percent field goal shooting. Austin Peay made just 10-of-36 of its field goal attempts in the half.
With the Penguins leading 50-42 with 12:52 left in the game, the Governors ripped off a 15-2 run to take a 57-52 lead with 7:40 remaining. Youngstown State would cut the deficit to one inside of 20 seconds left but Austin Peay went 5-of-6 from the free-throw line down the stretch to ice the game.
Youngstown State lost despite draining 13-of-29 from three-point range. Austin Peay went just 6-of-22 from long range.
