Berkeley, CA (Sports Network) - Justin Cobbs scored 28 points and handed out eight assists to help the California Golden Bears outlast the Oregon Ducks and pick up an 86-83 victory in a Pac-12 Conference thriller at the Haas Pavilion.
Harper Kamp finished with 20 points for Cal (21-6, 11-3 Pac-12), while David Kravish netted 13 points and grabbed eight rebounds. The Golden Bears have now won four in a row.
Devoe Joseph scored a career-high 33 points for Oregon (18-8, 9-5), as its two-game winning streak was snapped. Carlos Emory added 11 points and Olu Ashaolu chipped in 10 points for the Ducks.
Oregon took a 40-37 advantage into the intermission after it shot 53.3 percent from the floor and made 6-of-6 from the charity stripe. The Golden Bears stayed close by connecting on 50 percent of their field goal attempts.
Cal rallied back after the break by hitting 62.1 percent of its field goals in the final 20 minutes. Oregon committed 12 costly turnovers in the second half and found itself down 85-80 with 25 seconds left in the game. Joseph hit a deep three-pointer to bring Oregon within two on the next possession. The Ducks had a chance to tie after Kravish missed one of two at the free throw line, but Joseph's three-point attempt missed long and E.J. Singler's off- balance desperation heave after an offensive rebound hit the top of the backboard as time expired.
California outscored the Ducks, 48-36 in the paint and scored 25 points off of turnovers.
