Clarksville, TN (Sports Network) - Drew Kelly finished with 11 points to lead the Morehead State Eagles over the Austin Peay Governors 52-48 in an Ohio Valley Conference matchup at the Dunn Center.
For the Eagles (15-13, 8-6 OVC), Deandre Mathieu added 10 points.
Melvin Baker led the Governors (9-19, 6-8) with 17 points while TyShwan Edmondson chipped in 15 points.
Austin Peay shot 45.8 percent from the field in the first half and held Morehead State to just 3.48 percent shooting overall as the Governors took a slim, 26-25 lead into halftime.
In the second half, the Eagles improved to 40 percent from the field while the Governors struggled, hitting only 36.8 of their field goals. After trailing by four, 45-41, with 3:23 to play, the Eagles scored seven straight points to take a three-point lead and held on for the victory, handing the Governors their fifth-straight loss.
Austin Peay held a slight edge on the boards, 30-29, and in points in the paint, 14-12. Morehead State scored 13 points off of 13 Austin Peay turnovers.
