Davidson, NC (Sports Network) - J.P. Kuhlman finished with 16 points to lead the Davidson Wildcats over the Samford Bulldogs, 81-54, in a Southern Conference matchup at Belk Arena.
Jake Cohen added 15 points for the Wildcats (20-6, 14-2 SoCon), while Chris Czerapowicz scored 14 points and Tyler Kalinoski chipped in 10 off the bench.
For the Bulldogs (10-16, 7-8), Raijon Kelly finished with 14 points.
Davidson shot 41.7 percent from the field to open the contest, including 9- of-16 from three-point range. Samford struggled, making just 36 percent of its field goals and only 2-of-6 beyond the arc, as the Wildcats took a commanding 46-22 lead into halftime.
After the break the Bulldogs improved their shooting, connecting on 47.6 percent from the field, including 3-of-9 on their three-point attempts. The Wildcats continued to play well, hitting on 45.5 percent of their field goals in the second half, including 5-of-13 from beyond the three-point arc. Davidson led by as many as 32 in the second half as it cruised to the easy victory, splitting the season series with the Bulldogs.
Davidson dominated on the boards, outrebounding Samford 43-29. They Wildcats also forced 15 Samford turnovers, while turning over the ball just six times themselves.
