Norman, OK (Sports Network) - J'Covan Brown scored a game-high 19 points to lead the Texas Longhorns to a 69-58 victory over the Oklahoma Sooners in Big 12 Conference action at the Lloyd Noble Center.
Myck Kabongo and Sheldon McClellan added 13 points each for Texas (17-9, 7-6 Big 12) as it won its fourth game in a row. Kabongo also dished out seven assists.
Steven Pledger paced Oklahoma (13-12, 3-10) with 18 points. Romero Osby and Cameron Clark netted 13 points each. Clark pulled down seven rebounds while Sam Grooms dealt out a game-high 10 assists.
The Sooners took a 33-28 lead into halftime after they shot 40.6 percent from the floor in the opening period. Texas managed to make only 33.3 percent of its field goals in the first half.
The Longhorns rallied after the break by shooting 45.5 percent from the field and making 17-of-18 from the charity stripe in the final 20 minutes. Oklahoma saw its lead disappear as made only 1-of-2 from the free throw line in the second half.
Texas was much more aggressive in getting to the foul line, as it finished 24- of-29 from the charity stripe in the contest. Oklahoma converted 5-of-8 from the free throw line in the losing effort.
