Norfolk, VA (Sports Network) - Kent Bazemore scored 23 points and collected eight rebounds as the Old Dominion Monarchs downed the UNC-Wilmington Seahawks 81-64 in Colonial Athletic Association action at the Constant Convocation Center.
Nick Wright added 19 points for the Monarchs (17-11, 12-4 CAA) who have won five of their last seven. Chris Cooper finished with 12 points, while Donte Hill dished out six assists.
Keith Rendleman scored 15 points and grabbed 11 rebounds for the Seahawks (9-17, 5-11) who have lost their last three games. Tanner Milson added 12 points, while Cedrick Williams and Adam Smith finished with 11 points each.
The hosts broke the game open in the first half, racing out to a 43-24 halftime lead after shooting 51.5 percent from the floor before the break.
The Monarchs led by 23 with 13:51 left in the game and hung on for the victory despite shooting 2-of-10 from beyond the arc in the second half of play.
Old Dominion shot 48.5 percent from the floor for the game and had a 45-33 edge on the glass.
