Lubbock, TX (Sports Network) - Javarez Willis scored 21 points to lead the Texas Tech Red Raiders to a 65-47 win over the Oklahoma Sooners in Big 12 action at United Spirit Arena.
Robert Lewandowski added 16 points for Texas Tech (8-16, 1-11 Big 12) which prevailed for the first time in 12 conference bouts after losing its last 11 games. Lewandowski, Jordan Tolbert, and Jaye Crockett each grabbed six rebounds.
Andrew Fitzgerald scored 14 points for the Sooners (13-11, 3-9) who have lost four straight and nine of their last 12. Romero Osby grabbed eight rebounds.
Texas Tech led 25-22 at halftime after trailing for much of the first half. Willis hit a three-pointer to give his team the lead with 1:22 remaining.
Texas Tech never trailed in the second half and wound up leading by as many as 20.
Oklahoma was hurt by 16 turnovers, which resulted in 12 Texas Tech points.
