Final Score: Butler 68, Youngstown State 59

Youngstown, OH (Sports Network) - Chrishawn Hopkins scored 19 points to lead the Butler Bulldogs to a 68-59 win over the Youngstown State Penguins in a Horizon League affair at the Beeghly Center.

Jackson Aldridge added 15 points in the win for Butler (13-12, 7-6 HL), which also got 11 points from Roosevelt Jones. Ronald Nored pulled down 11 rebounds and dished out six assists.

Kendrick Perry posted a game-high 23 points to pace YSU (13-10, 8-5), while Damian Eargle and Ashen Ward finished with 11 and 10 points, respectively, in a losing effort.

YSU was kept in check to the tune of 34.8 percent from the field during the opening period of play, allowing Butler to jump out to a 35-25 halftime lead.

The Bulldogs then made good on 40.0 percent from the floor and 11-of-20 at the foul line over the final 20 minutes to earn a nine-point verdict.

Butler bested the Penguins on the glass with a 42-29 rebounding advantage.
