Birmingham, AL (Sports Network) - Cameron Moore produced 27 points and 12 rebounds as he guided the UAB Blazers to a 71-61 win over the Southern Miss Golden Eagles in Conference USA action at Bartow Arena.

Moore, who shot 12-of-16 from the floor, added three blocked shots and a couple of steals for the Blazers (10-13, 5-5 C-USA) as they picked up their third straight win and the fourth in five tries. Jordan Swing added 15 points and Preston Purifoy 10 for the hosts in their upset win.

The Golden Eagles (20-4, 7-2) were paced by Jonathan Mills who scored 14 points, followed by Darnell Dodson and Maurice Bolden with 13 and 10 points, respectively, as they had a five-game win streak snapped.

USM led by five points early on in the first half, but the team shot just 37.5 percent from the field and 1-of-10 behind the three-point line in the period, allowing UAB to grab a 32-28 advantage at the break. The Blazers made good on an impressive 61.9 percent from the floor in the frame.

In the second half UAB continued to shoot the ball well, converting at a 59.1 percent clip, not to mention hitting on 10-of-11 at the free-throw line to secure the 10-point win.

The Golden Eagles forced a total of 16 turnovers, but the visitors also knocked down a mere 3-of-16 from the perimeter on the night.
