Lake Charles, LA (Sports Network) - Reggie Jackson scored 22 points to lead the top-seeded Boston College Eagles past the eight-seeded McNeese State Cowboys, 82-64, in opening round action of the NIT from Burton Coliseum.
Corey Raji recorded a double-double with 15 points and 11 rebounds for Boston College (21-12), which advances to play the winner of Wednesday's Northwestern/Milwaukee matchup. Biko Paris added 14 points and seven assists for the Eagles, while Josh Southern and Joe Trapani added 13 and 10 points, respectively.
Patrick Richard scored 22 points for the Cowboys (21-12), while Diego Kapelan added 12 points, Stephan Martin finished with 10 points and P.J. Alawoya grabbed 12 boards to go with his nine points.
Boston College put the game away early, hitting 56.7 percent of its first half shots, while limiting McNeese State to 25.9 percent shooting, to take a commanding 41-19 lead into the locker room.
The Eagles went a perfect 10-of-10 from the foul line over the final 20 minutes, as they cruised to victory.
Boston College's largest lead reached 24 points in the runaway win.
