Berkeley, CA (Sports Network) - Patrick Christopher scored a game-high 18 points as the California Golden Bears posted an 85-51 win over the Utah Valley Wolverines as part of the Golden Bear Classic at Haas Pavilion.
Also scoring in double figures for the Golden Bears (7-4) were Jerome Randle and Theo Robertson with 16 and 13 points, respectively.
The Wolverines (6-6) were paced by Jordan Swarbrick with 15 points on a perfect 4-of-4 shooting behind the three-point line. Shawn Deadwiler checked in with 12 points in 22 minutes off the bench.
California not only shot 48.3 percent from the field in the first half, the team also converted 9-of-11 at the free-throw line to claim a 40-26 advantage at the break.
In the second half the Bears made good on a sizzling 65.5 percent from the floor to cruise to the 34-point victory.
Utah Valley shot just 32.7 percent from the field on the night and was easily handled on the glass, 38-24.
With the victory California will now face off against UC Santa Barbara in the championship game on Tuesday.
