NCAA Game Summary - Western Kentucky at Texas State

San Marcos, TX (SportsNetwork.com) - Antonio Andrews rushed for 204 yards and three touchdowns, as the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers bested the Texas State Bobcats, 38-7, in a Sun Belt Conference showdown at Bobcat Stadium.
Andrews did his damage on 21 carries for WKU (7-4, 3-3 Sun Belt), which has won three straight games, and he has now rushed for at least 99 yards in every game this season. Brandon Doughty completed 20-of-32 passes for 152 yards, and Willie McNeal led the team with six catches for 37 yards.
For Texas State (6-5, 2-4), Tyler Arndt was just 1-of-5 for five yards and three interceptions before being pulled for Tyler Jones (14-of-25, 104 yards, TD, INT). Bradley Miller caught seven passes for 52 yards.
After a scoreless first quarter, WKU made up for lost time with 17 unanswered points in the second. After Garrett Schwettman made a 30-yard field goal, Andrews rushed for a pair of touchdowns three minute apart from one another, one from seven yards out and the other a 47-yard scamper.
Texas State put an end to the WKU run late in the frame by capping off a 12- play, 65-yard drive with a six-yard touchdown pass from Jones to Brandon Smith, as the Bobcats went into intermission facing a 17-7 deficit.
Neither team scored in the third quarter, but the Hilltoppers pulled away in the fourth with three rushing touchdowns. Leon Allen ran one in from two yards out, Antonio Andrew scored his third touchdown of the game on a 33-yarder scamper, and Anthony Wales put an exclamation point on the victory with a 21- yard run in the final minute.
Texas State had nowhere to run on the evening, as it racked up just 21 rushing yards on 29 carries. The poor performance on the ground caused it to lose the time of possession battle by nearly nine minutes.
