Sudfeld completed 23-of-38 passes and threw an interception in his third 300- yard passing performance of the season for Indiana (3-2, 1-0 Big Ten). Tre Roberson finished with just 12 rushing yards but converted a pair of short touchdown runs.

Allen Robinson hauled in 12 passes for 173 yards and two touchdowns in his fourth 100-yard receiving day of the season, while Zach Zwinak had 72 yards on 17 carries,

Indiana got the scoring started late in the first quarter when Sudfeld threw a five-yard touchdown pass to Isaiah Roundtree to give the Hoosiers an early advantage.

The Nittany Lions tied things up at the 9:16 mark of the second quarter following a 46-yard touchdown pass from Hackenberg to Robinson.

Indiana drove deep into PSU territory on two occasions late in the second quarter but had to settle for a pair of Mitch Ewald field goals (24, 27), the latter coming as time expired in the first half.

PSU regained the lead at the 9:18 mark of the third quarter when Hackenberg connected with Robinson on a 26-yard touchdown strike. The scoring play capped off a 13-play, 80-yard drive that lasted less than three and a half minutes.

The see saw continued just 1:22 later when Coleman ripped off a 44-yard touchdown run. After Tre Roberson successfully rushed in the two-point conversion, Indiana held a 21-14 lead.

The Nittany Lions cut their deficit to four at the end of the third quarter when Sam Ficken knocked through a 30-yard field goal, but Indiana responded by piecing together an 11-play, 75-yard drive, capped off with a two-yard rushing touchdown by Roberson.

Indiana put the game out of reach by scoring a pair of touchdowns just 12 seconds apart. After Sudfeld hooked up with Hughes on a 36-yard scoring strike with 10:42 left in the game, PSU lost a fumble on the ensuing kickoff, which allowed Roberson to convert a nine-yard touchdown rush.

Hackenberg tossed a 16-yard touchdown pass to Bill Belton later in the fourth quarter. The PSU quarterback also lost a fumble deep in his own territory late in the game, which was recovered by a teammate in the end zone for a safety.

PSU lost despite converting 11-of-22 third down attempts and owning more than 35 minutes of possession time.
