10/27/2014 10:48:00 AM
Description: Eagles running back LeSean McCoy was given 21 carries and saw five targets, but only produced a combined 97 yards and didn't get into the end zone.
Insight: Not horrible, but not what we need from a top-three fantasy selection.
10/13/2014 9:57:00 AM
Description: Eagles running back LeSean McCoy finally broke out with a 149-yard effort against the Gioants Sunday night.
Insight: He didn't get into the end zone, but he ran like we have come to expect for the first time this season. Not unrelated, the Eagles offensive line dominated the Giants defensive line.
10/5/2014 5:23:00 PM
Description: Eagles running back LeSean McCoy was improved over last week. He rushed for 81 yards on 24 carries against St. Louis.
Insight: Not great, but at least he's headed in the right direction.
Cold9/29/2014 10:45:00 AM
Description: Eagles running back LeSean McCoy rushed for just 17 yards on 10 carries against San Francisco.
Insight: Seventeen rushing yards and no receiving yards, this is becoming an ugly trend. He's yet to rush for 80 yards in a game and has one touchdown. That's not what fantasy owners paid high dollar for on draft day. Hopefully the Eagles injured offensive line will get healthier and open some holes.
9/21/2014 1:43:00 PM
Description: Eagles running back LeSean McCoy left Sunday's game against the Redskins after suffering a helmet to helmet hit on his second carry of the game. UPDATE: McCoy has returned to the game after doctors cleared him of a concussion.
Insight: It took McCoy a few minutes to get up, but he did jog off the field. Shortly afterward, it looked like McCoy wanted to come back into the game, but team doctors were arguing with McCoy, likely telling him he has to go through the concussion protocol. In the meantime, Darren Sproles' value continues to go up.
9/16/2014 9:11:00 AM
Description: Eagles running back LeSean McCoy is getting his 20 carries, but has yet to break out for the big fantasy numbers.
Insight: This could be the "new reality" caused by the addition of Darren Sproles, who has become too valuable to keep off the field. We will keep on top of McCoy's usage moving forward to see if he continues at this new, lower, production level. McCoy is averaging 108.5 ypg from scrimmage this season versus 134.1 in 2013.
8/21/2014 10:02:00 PM
Description: Eagles fans and a lot of fantasy owners were sweating when running back LeSean McCoy left Thursday's game with a thumb injury, but X-rays were negative.
Insight: Philadelphia Inquirer's Jeff McLane says there are no fractures or torn ligaments. This an example of why its best to draft just before the season begins. Now that he appears fine and has two weeks to heal, he should still be a high first-round selection.
8/18/2014 7:17:00 PM
Description: Eagles running back LeSean McCoy missed practice Sunday with what he called "a small version of turf toe," but he practiced Monday, according to csnphilly.com
Insight: McCoy said he hurt the big toe on his left foot during a joint practice against the Patriots last week. He said he had an MRI and X-rays and is "fine." It shouldn't be a problem for McCoy, last year's leader in yards from scrimmage with 2,146, come Week 1.
12/23/2013 9:25:00 AM
Description: Shady McCoy went off for 162 yards (133 rushing, 29 receiving) and two touchdowns Sunday in a win against Chicago.
Insight: McCoy continues to be outstanding for the NFC East-leading Eagles. Sunday marked the former Pitt Panther's third multi-touchdown game of the season. It was also his sixth 100-yard rushing performance. Unless Jamaal Charles has a monster Week 17, McCoy is going to win his first rushing title (he leads Charles 1,476 yards to 1,287).
12/8/2013 7:01:00 PM
Description: LeSean McCoy set an Eagles record with 217 rushing yards Sunday in a 34-20 win over Detroit.
Insight: Roughly two thirds of his yardage came in the fourth quarter (148 yards). McCoy leads the NFL in rushing (1,305 yards on 261 carries) and is just four yards away from tying his career-high. He's a top-five fantasy running back.
11/17/2013 2:55:00 PM
Description: Eagles star running back LeSean McCoy is back on the field to start the second half.
Insight: The Eagles have a 17-0 lead, so McCoy must be feeling good or they would use Bryce Brown.
11/17/2013 2:29:00 PM
Description: Eagles star running back LeSean McCoy is officially questionable to return to Sunday's game with a right hamstring injury, according to philadelphiaeagles.com.
Insight: McCoy picked up 37 yards and a touchdown on seven carries and also caught a 49-yard pass on a wheel route against the Redskins. However, he tweaked his hamstring in the second quarter and had to go to the locker room. The Eagles have a 17-0 lead, so they may not want to force the issue with McCoy.
11/17/2013 2:16:00 PM
Description: Eagles star running back LeSean McCoy limped off the field in the second quarter with what appeared to be a hamstring or cramp injury.
Insight: McCoy is the league's leading rusher so fantasy owners, and the Eagles, can ill-afford to be without him for long. We await further word.
11/10/2013 6:32:00 PM
Description: Shady McCoy dominated the Packers for 155 rushing yards Sunday in an Eagles victory.
Insight: It was McCoy's highest rushing output since Week 3 against the Chiefs. The former Pitt Panther leads all NFL rushers with 932 yards this season.
9/25/2013 4:35:00 PM
Description: Eagles running back LeSean McCoy (right ankle sprain) was practicing on Wednesday.
Insight: McCoy should be ready to go when the Eagles face the explosive Denver Broncos. He had fans and fantasy owners holding their breath with what looked to be a serious leg injury against Kansas City last Thursday, but returned to the game and performed well. Start him as always.
9/20/2013 11:25:00 AM
Description: Eagles running back LeSean McCoy said he has a right ankle sprain, but wasn't limping after he returned to the action in the third quarter.
Insight: McCoy had fans and fantasy owners holding their breath with what looked to be a serious leg injury, but returned to the game and performed well totaling 158 yards (92 yards after the injury) and a score on 20 carries.
9/19/2013 10:17:00 PM
Description: In a surprising move, LeSean McCoy has returned to the game. It looked like his night was over after he took a nasty fall late in the first half.
Insight: Give Shady credit. The guy is tough as nails. McCoy had a solid first half with 66 yards rushing and he should continue to be productive for the Eagles.
9/19/2013 9:57:00 PM
Description: Eagles halfback LeSean McCoy suffered a right leg injury in the second quarter of Thursday's game against Kansas City.
Insight: He was able to walk off the field on his own power, which is always an encouraging sign. NFL Network's sideline reporter Alex Flanagan saw McCoy throw down his helmet, so obviously he's very frustrated. We should have an update on McCoy's condition shortly.
Hot9/15/2013 5:38:00 PM
Description: The Eagles went pass heavy in Sunday's game against the Chargers so LeSean McCoy only had 53 yards on 11 carries, but he finished with five receptions for 114 yards.
Insight: Whether the Eagles choose to run or pass more in any given week, McCoy is going to be heavily involved. He should eclipse 2,000 yards from scrimmage easily if he stays healthy.
9/13/2013 10:59:00 AM
Description: Bad news for LeSean McCoy owners - even the running back thinks he shouldn't get 32 touches in a game. "I think we can do a better job rotating because it's a long season. I don't think I need to have the ball 31, 32 times in a game for us to be a successful offense," McCoy told phillymag.com.
Insight: McCoy shredded the Redskins for 184 yards on the ground Monday in a season-opening win at Fed Ex Field, but the 32 touches have to be near the top limit of his workload. Expect coach Chip Kelly to give backup Bryce Brown addition work in Week 2.
