Description: Giants DL Mathias Kiwanuka (neck) has been placed on injured reserve, ending his 2010 season. SOURCE: BIG BLUE VIEW
Insight: Luckily, the Giants defense hasn't slowed down with Kiwanuka out. But unfortunately for Kiwanuka, he will now enter 2011 a free agent and no chance of signing a big-cash deal. He may need to sign a one year "prove it" deal to show he is completely recovered from a herniated disc in his neck.

Description: ESPN's Chris Mortensen reports that the Giants are bracing for Mathias Kiwanuka (neck) to miss 2-3 months or perhaps more. SOURCE: Chris Mortensen via Twitter
Insight: Huge blow for IDP owners and the Giants. Kiwanuka's going for a second opinion on the prognosis but things are unlikely to change. An MRI showed a bulging disc. The Giants are bracing for the worse and Kiwi could land on IR. IDP leaguers can safely cut bait and look to the wire.

Description: The Newark Star Ledger reports Kiwanuka, who is entering the final year of his contract, has not ruled out a training camp holdout.
Insight: The Giants drafted DE Jean Pierre-Paul in the first round in April as a potential contigency plan in theory, but it would be a surprise to see Kiwanuka skip any training camp time. (SportsBuff.com)
