Description: The Yankees dealt catcher Ian Stewart to the Pirates on Monday. SOURCE: Jon Heyman, CBS Sports
Insight: The Pirates are giving the Yanks a player to be named later. With Brian McCann inked to a five-year contract, Stewart was only going to be a backup if he stayed in New York. Then again, that's all he'll be in Pittsburgh with Russell Martin slated to get the lion's share of the work behind the plate.

Description: Yankees catcher Chris Stewart is doubtful for Monday's game against Cleveland after suffering dehydration on Saturday and missing Sunday's game.
Insight: Too bad as Stewart is a .375 hitter versus Justin Masterson. Austin Romine would start behind the plate.

Description: Yankees catcher Chris Stewart won't play Sunday against Boston.
Insight: He was a late scratch. Stewart's absence could be related to a dehydration issue that forced him to leave Saturday's game after just four innings. Austin Romine will start behind the plate.

Description: With Francisco Cervelli sidelined for six weeks, the Yankees will rely primarily on Chris Stewart to handle the chores behind the plate.
Insight: The Yankees will most likely promote Austin Romine from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre where he was batting .333 with a homer and four RBI in 14 games, but Stewart (.304, 1 HR, 4 RBI, .795 OPS) should get the majority of the work.
