Description: Vikings RB Adrian Peterson limped off the field in Week 12 vs. Washington with some sort of ankle injury.
Insight: He's getting some attention from trainers as we speak, and it's uncertain when he can return. Chances are they will tape it up and he'll be back out there.

Description: The Chicago Tribune reports the Bears are not expected to re-sign Peterson, who is scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent.
Insight: Peterson has been relegated to special teams duty lately, so it's unlikely he'll get much interest on the free agent market. (SportsBuff.com)

Description: According to the Chicago Tribune, Peterson (right knee) has returned to practice and is expected to play on Sunday against Cleveland.
Insight: Peterson's main contribution will come on special teams as the Bears try to neutralize Browns' return man Josh Cribbs. (SportsBuff.com)

Doubtful10/15/2009 6:33:00 PM
Description: According to the Daily Herald, Peterson (right knee) did not practice on Thursday and is not expected to play this week against Atlanta.
Insight: The "other" Adrian Peterson is recovering from an MCL strain in the knee, and may be targeting Week 7 for his return to action. (SportsBuff.com0

Questionable10/5/2009 1:20:00 PM
Description: According to Brad Biggs of National Football Post, Peterson (right knee) suffered a sprained right knee on the opening kickoff of Sunday's game against Detroit.
Insight: Peterson is scheduled for an MRI on Monday, after which more should be known. His main contribution is on special teams, but he is also Matt Forte's primary backup. (SportsBuff.com)

9/21/2009 4:59:00 PM
Description: Peterson had three carries and two receptions during Week 2's win over Pittsburgh.
Insight: Peterson is not a threat to steal a lot of touches from Matt Forte, but he is the handcuff to Forte right now. Garrett Wolfe may be in the mix at some point to, but Forte is the main man. (SportsBuff.com)

Cold4/13/2009 3:20:00 PM
Description: In his seventh season with the Bears, Peterson carried just 20 times, tumbling even behind even Kyle Orton to fourth on the team.
Insight: Peterson might have trouble making the regular-season roster if the team decides to increase the role of Garrett Wolfe. Even if he does make it, Peterson will be buried at least behind Matt Forte and Kevin Jones, making him a fantasy afterthought. (SportsBuff.com)
