Description: Raptors forward James Johnson surprisingly scored a team-high 27 points during Saturday's loss versus Houston.
Insight: Johnson shot 10-of-16 from the field and 6-of-8 from the line. He also chipped in five rebounds, four steals, four blocks, one 3-pointer, and one turnover. If you played Johnson as a daily play, you should be commended.

Description: Raptors power forward James Johnson hit a key 3-pointer late in the fourth quarter to propel Toronto to a, 87-82, victory over the Spurs on Sunday.
Insight: Down by one, Johnson hit a 3-pointer to put the Raptors ahead, 84-82, which gave the team the lead for good. On the next possession, the Spurs missed two wide open 3-pointers. Johnson led Toronto with 20 points, shooting 8-of-10 from the field.

Description: Raptors power forward James Johnson will not play on Friday versus the Nets due to a hamstring injury.
Insight: Johnson hasn't played much this week, but that could be because DeMar DeRozan is back in the lineup. He isn't worth owning with DeRozan back.
3/8/2014 4:47:00 PM
Description: Memphis power forward James Johnson picked up a DNP-Coach's Decision Friday at Chicago.
Insight: He missed Monday's game with a sprained ankle and played just 14 minutes in his return to action on Wednesday. Johnson helped the Grizzlies on the wings when Tony Allen was out but he can be dropped in all leagues.

Insight: He missed Monday's game with a sprained ankle. Johnson (8.5 ppg, 3.9 rpg) is owned in fewer than five percent of fantasy leagues.
3/3/2014 7:14:00 PM
Description: The Grizzlies will not have forward James Johnson Monday against the Wizards, according to Memphis sideline reporter Rob Fischer.
Insight: Johnson suffered a sprained ankle during the first half of Saturday's game. Prior to that he had averaged 20.5 minutes, 10.7 points, 3.2 rebounds, 1.9 assists, 1.2 blocks and 0.7 steals over his last 12 games. Tony Allen, Courtney Lee and Mike Miller will take Johnson's minutes.
1/15/2014 10:37:00 PM
Description: Grizzlies forward James Johnson had 15 points, five assists, six rebounds, six blocks and two steals Wednesday at Milwaukee.
Insight: Johnson hasn't done much scoring (8.4 ppg), but he's averaging 4.6 rebounds, 2.7 assists, 1.7 blocks and 1.5 steals in 15 games since joining Memphis.
1/7/2014 10:50:00 PM
Description: Memphis forward James Johnson had 15 points, five assists, four rebounds, two blocks and one steal Tuesday against the Spurs.
Insight: In 11 games since joining Memphis, Johnson has averaged 8.3 points, 4.7 rebounds, 2.5 assists, 1.4 steals and 1.3 blocks in just 22 minutes per game. He could be in for more playing time with G/F Tony Allen out for at least two weeks with a fractured hand.
12/29/2012 10:35:00 AM
Description: Kings forward James Johnson scored 17 points and hit a 3-pointer at the buzzer to beat the Knicks by one on Friday.
Insight: It was the first 3-pointer Johnson has made all season on 12 attempts. The 17 points were also a season high. With 5.1 ppg and 2.7 rpg, Johnson is really a non-factor in fantasy leagues.
4/23/2012 7:58:00 PM
Description: James Johnson and Aaron Gray will switch places Monday night against the Bucks, with Johnson starting and Gray coming off the bench.
Insight: Johnson recent strong play (18 points against Miami last Wednesday) has propelled him back into the Raptors' starting lineup.
3/30/2012 6:37:00 PM
Description: James Johnson will play Friday against Miami but he won't start. Johnson missed Toronto's game Wednesday with an illness.
Insight: With Johnson coming off the bench, Linas Kleiza should get the start at small forward again for the Raptors. Kleiza was reasonably effective Wednesday night, going off for 15 points in 29 minutes versus the Nuggets.
3/28/2012 7:24:00 PM
Description: James Johnson is too sick to play tonight against the Nuggets.
Insight: Johnson wasn't feeling well Monday either, when he put up 13 points in 21 minutes against the Magic. Apparently Johnson's illness has gotten worse since then. Linas Kleiza (9.6 ppg) started in Johnson's absence.
3/26/2012 9:47:00 PM
Description: James Johnson played through an illness Monday night. He scored 13 points in his 21 minutes on the court.
Insight: This wasn't the Michael Jordan flu game but it was still a pretty gutsy performance by Johnson, who continues to overachieve in fantasy (10.5 ppg and 5.4 rpg this month). Johnson isn't a fantasy stud but he is consistent, even when he's sick apparently.
4/10/2011 9:06:00 PM
Description: James Johnson logged 40 minutes that yielded 18 points, six boards, six dimes, and three steals in the win over New Jersey.
Insight: The Raptors are short on bodies and there is no reason to think that Johnson can't log over 35 minutes again (assuming no foul trouble). Get him in your deep-league lineup.
3/26/2011 12:48:00 AM
Description: The Raptors are running out of guys and James Johnson looks like he was worthy of the trade with the Bulls by playing 36 minutes and producing 14 points, five boards, four assists, two blocks, and two steals in the ugly loss at Golden State.
Insight: Yes, the garbage time factor does come into play here. The Raptors have nothing to play for and since they wanted him, they might give him an extended look with Reggie Evans and Amir Johnson not healthy.
2/23/2011 6:48:00 PM
Description: Newly acquired James Johnson will get the start over Sonny Weems in his first game with his new team.
Insight: All the talk about the Raptors liking James Johnson wasn't for nothing. The Raptors have no chance at making the playoffs and getting a good look at their shiny new toy seems like it's right at the top of the list of things to do. There's not a lot of upside here, but if you're a deep-league owner and are sick of someone on your roster, go ahead and add him.

Description: The Toronto Raptors have acquired James Johnson for the first round pick they received from Miami. SOURCE: Yahoo!
Insight: Johnson is 6-foot-9 and 245 pounds, so he is really a power forward. The Raptors are the weakest hole at the three, so he would have the most value there. If that does happen, Johnson will likely be in a time-share situation with Sonny Weems. Weems has not done much to assure himself of being entrenched in the lineup. Johnson is not yet on the radar in most formats and there should be better suitors on your waiver wire.
