Final Score: Prairie View 88, Jackson State 75
Garland, TX (Sports Network) - Jourdan DeMuynck scored 37 points to lead Prairie View to a 88-75 win over Jackson State in the SWAC Tournament semifinals.
Prairie View (15-18), the second seed in the tourney, will face the winner of Southern in the finals on Saturday.
DeMuynck shot 13-of-23 from the field and was 8-of-11 from the foul line for the Panthers, who shot 56 percent in the win. Montrael Scott added 20 points and Carl Blair had 12 points and 10 assists.
Christian Williams had 27 points for the Tigers (11-18), who won 10 of their final 13 regular-season games. Jeff Stubbs and Derrell Taylor scored 16 and 10 points, respectively, off the bench.
The Panthers had a 34-33 edge at halftime.
However, Prairie View coasted in the second half, thanks to DeMuynck scoring 26 points in the period.
Jackson State kept it close in the early portions of the half and were down by two, 44-42, with 14:45 remaining in regulation.
However, the Panthers went on a 12-3 run over the next three minutes to lead 56-45.
The Tigers got within six, 63-57, with 7:25 left, but were outscored 25-18 for the remainder of the contest.
The two teams kept it competitive in the first half, with Jackson State leading most of the frame.
With 28 seconds remaining, down 33-31, Scott sank a 3-pointer to give his team the lead.

Garland, TX (Sports Network) - Derick Beltran and Malcolm Miller each tallied 19 points as the top-seed Southern Jaguars advanced to the Southwestern Athletic Conference Tournament finals with a 72-59 win over the Alabama A&M Bulldogs at the Culwell Center.
Jameel Grace added 13 points and five assists for Southern (22-9) which advances to take on Prairie View A&M in the title game.
Jeremy Crutcher scored 19 points and Green Hill put in 17 for Alabama A&M (11-20). Demarquelle Tabb recorded a 14-point, 15-rebound double-double in the loss.
Southern shot at just a 41.2 percent clip but nailed 10 shots from beyond the arc and went 20-of-30 from the free-throw line.
