Eagles' Vick exits in second quarter
Philadelphia, PA (SportsNetwork.com) - Michael Vick's return to action apparently lasted less than a half, as the oft-injured Philadelphia Eagles quarterback departed Sunday's game against the New York Giants in the second quarter after aggravating a previous hamstring pull.
The Eagles have declared Vick, who sat out the team's last two games after initially sustaining the injury against the Giants on Oct. 6, questionable to return. Rookie Matt Barkley took over the offense with under three minutes left in the first half and Philadelphia trailing by a 12-0 score.
Philadelphia mustered only 27 total yards and two first downs in four drives with Vick under center, with the veteran lefty appearing to favor his leg on several occasions. Vick completed 6-of-9 passes prior to leaving, but for only 31 yards.
Barkley hit on 6-of-7 throws for 55 yards while getting the Eagles down to the Giants' 2-yard line on his initial series. However, the 2013 fourth-round pick was stripped on a sack by Terrell Thomas deep in New York territory and Jacquian Williams recovered the fumble.
Nick Foles, who started in Vick's place the past two weeks, is inactive for Sunday's matchup after suffering a concussion in the Eagles' 17-3 loss to Dallas last week.
