Roenis EliasSPMariners left-hander Roenis Elias left Tuesday's start against the Angels with left elbow stiffness according to Bob Dutton of the Tacoma News Tribune.Elias allowed two runs on five hits and a walk while also allowing a leadoff single in the fourth before leaving with his injury. Seattle will likely update his status on Wednesday, but don't count on the rookie for any more innings this year.9/16/2014 11:59:00 PM
HotHisashi IwakumaSPMariners starter Hisashi Iwakuma has been solid all season, but has been on the downswing throughout his past three starts. While he has managed two wins over his three previous starts, Iwakuma's overall numbers have not been good during that span (2-1, 5.74 ERA). With the Mariners heading to Los Angeles to take on the Angels, it would not be the worst idea to keep Iwakuma on your bench, with him going up against such a potent lineup.9/15/2014 12:18:00 PM
ColdKyle Seager3BMariners third baseman Kyle Seager is a career .308 hitter with two home runs against Athletics pitcher Jon Lester.Seager does not have a hit in a week, so it is tough to plug him into the lineup right now. Hopefully he turns it around with a matchup he has had success with in the past. Seager is batting .272 with 23 home runs and 88 RBI this year.9/14/2014 12:36:00 PM
Dustin AckleyLFMariners left fielder Dustin Ackley is not in the starting lineup on Saturday.Ackley played Friday but missed all of last week with bone spurs in his left ankle. He is listed as day-to-day.9/13/2014 7:06:00 PM
Dustin AckleyLFMariners left fielder Dustin Ackley was out of the Mariners' lineup Monday against the Astros and is questionable for Tuesday's game.Ackley (.251, 11 HR, 60 RBI, 60 runs) left Saturday's game with a left ankle injury and did not return. He has not played since then. Given that he's 0-for-7 with five strikeouts against scheduled starter Collin McHugh, I'd expect he'll get another day off.9/9/2014 12:05:00 PM

HotKyle Seager3BMariners third baseman Kyle Seager is 6-for-16 (.375) with a double and home run in his career against Astros starter Brad Peacock.Seager has been hitting the ball well lately, going 3-for-5 on Saturday and 3-for-4 last Wednesday. In the first week of September, Seager hit .385 with three home runs. With the recent hot streak and favorable matchup, he is a must-start on Monday.9/8/2014 12:21:00 PM
Kyle Seager3BMariners third baseman Kyle Seager went 3-for-5, hitting a two-run home run, as the Mariners beat the Rangers, 4-2, on Saturday. The home run was Seager's 23rd of the season, which is a new career high. Seager's 88 RBI is also a career high. The first baseman did have a chance to put the game out of reach but grounded into a double play in the top of the ninth. In the eighth, Seager appeared to jam his ankle trying to round third base, but he finished the game. We will continue to monitor the situation.9/7/2014 10:11:00 AM
Brad MillerSSMariners shortstop Brad Miller went 4-for-4 with a double and stole a base against the Rangers on Saturday.Miller's stats will not impress anyone (.215, 10 home runs, 33 RBI) , but he has been hitting better over the last couple weeks. Since Aug. 31, he has gone 9-for-18, and Miller hit a respectable .273 in August. Miller has only played in 107 games though so the bigger question might be how much playing time he gets these last three weeks.9/7/2014 10:00:00 AM

Minnesota

Joe Mauer1BTwins first baseman Joe Mauer is a .167 hitter (3-for-18), with five strikeouts against Tigers' starter David Price.Mauer has had a disappointing season in 2014, and that trend could continue tonight versus one of Detroit's aces.9/17/2014 11:28:00 AM
HotKennys VargasDHTwins first baseman Kennys Vargas went 3-for-4 with two runs and a home run against the Tigers on Tuesday.Vargas scored the first run of the game and extended the Minnesota lead in the sixth with a solo home run. HotRicky NolascoSPTwins starter Ricky Nolasco pitched eight shutout innings, allowed five hits, struck out five and walked one in a no-decision against the Tigers on Tuesday.Nolasco was in line for the victory until Twins closer Glen Perkins yielded three runs in the top of the ninth. Minnesota rallied in the bottom of the inning to win, 4-3. Nolasco is 5-11 with a 5.34 ERA, but he has an ERA of 1.35 in his last three starts.9/16/2014 11:38:00 PM
Oswaldo ArciaRFTwins right fielder Oswaldo Arcia had to be taken out of Monday's game with upper back tightness.Arcia was 1-for-3, including his 18th homerun of the season, before bing removed. He has struggled from an average standpoint in 2014 (.231/.304/.456), but has shown nice power. Consider Arcia day-to-day going forward.9/16/2014 9:47:00 AM
Trevor MaySPTwins pitcher Trevor May struck out 10 and walked none in six innings against the White Sox on Sunday.May allowed three runs on five hits as well. The 24-year-old has now won his last three starts and is 3-4 on the year.9/14/2014 6:41:00 PM
Brian Dozier2BTwins second baseman Brian Dozier is 2-for-12 in his career against White Sox pitcher Hector Noesi.Dozier does have a home run against Noesi, but other than that, has struggled against the right hander. Dozier also struggled in a doubleheader on Saturday, going 0-for-7 in the two games combined.9/14/2014 11:18:00 AM
Tommy MiloneSPTwins starter Tommy Milone is unlikely to start on Monday due to a sore neck.Milone was already pushed back to start Monday when Friday's game was rained out. With only two weeks remaining in the season, it is possible Milone is done for the year. Anthony Swarsak is the best candidate to start in Milone's place on Monday.9/13/2014 3:27:00 PM
Joe Mauer1BTwins first baseman Joe Mauer is a .444 hitter (9-for-18) against White Soxc starter Jose Quintana. For the season, he is hitting just.272 with four home runs and 46 RBI, which is certainly disappointing based on his historic standards.9/12/2014 1:36:00 PM
