He had a 5.17 ERA last year, but his career ERA is 3.69 and it's 1.00 through his first two starts this season.7/26/2014 11:32:00 PM
Matt JoyceRFRays OF/DH Matt Joyce has a career .333 batting average (8-for-24) with two home runs against Red Sox starter John Lackey.Joyce is one of four Rays starters (Evan Longoria, Yunel Escobar, Ben Zobrist are the others) batting over .333 for their career versus Lackey.7/26/2014 11:11:00 AM
HotDavid PriceSPIn what may have been his final start with the Rays, David Price struck out 10, walked none and allowed three runs over eight innings against the Red Sox.Price has won six straight starts and pitched to a 1.88 ERA and a 99/13 K/BB in his last 11. In that span, he's thrown at least seven innings in all 11 starts and averaged nearly eight innings per outing. Ben Zobrist2BTampa Bay second baseman Ben Zobrist bounced back from a 0-for-12 stretch with four hits in four at-bats Friday night against the Red Sox.Since June 25, Zobrist has gone 31-for-94 (.330) with six doubles, two triples, two homers, 13 RBI and 14 runs in 24 games. Michael PinedaSPNew York starter Michael Pineda has been cleared to start a rehab assignment, according to Bryan Hoch of threw a simulated game Tuesday and manager Joe Girardi said the session was "really good." Michael PinedaSPNew York starter Michael Pineda is expected to throw about 45 pitches Tuesday in a simulated game.Fantasy owners should have moved on a long time ago. With all the setbacks he's been having, it's unlikely we'll see Pineda (2-2, 1.83 ERA) on the mound before the third week in August ... at best. 7/29/2014 10:45:00 AM
