Danny SantanaOF/SSThe Twins Danny Santana has been named the starter at shortstop for 2015, by manager Paul Molitor. No surprise here. He batted .319 with 70 runs, 20 steals and an impressive .824 OPS last season in his rookie year. We'd like to see more walks and less strikeouts, but he quietly put together a nice fantasy season. Don't overlook him on Draft Day.3/28/2015 11:44:00 AM
Jordan SchaferCFTwins outfielder Jordan Schafer could be the starting center fielder on Opening Day.Schafer is the likely candidate to start as the team sent Aaron Hicks to Triple-A Rochester. His bat has never been fantasy worthy and after five seasons in the majors that isn't likely to change. He does have the ability to steal 25-35 bases.3/28/2015 10:22:00 AM
ColdAaron HicksCFMinnesota outfielder Aaron Hicks has been sent to Triple-A Rochester.Hicks (.215, 1 HR, 18 RBI) was supposed to be the reason the Twins could trade Denard Span and Ben Revere a couple of years ago, but it simply hasn't worked out. Jordan Schafer is the likely starter in center field.3/28/2015 10:19:00 AM
ColdMike PelfreySPTwins right-hander Mike Pelfrey appears to be the odd-man out in the Minnesota rotation.Pelfrey has apparently lost the final starting spot to Tommy Milone and will work out of the bullpen. Long relief and spot starting doesn't equal much fantasy value.3/28/2015 10:10:00 AM
Brian Dozier2BTwins second baseman Brian Dozier signed a four-year, $20 million extension.Dozier was a great value for fantasy owners in 2014, but most of his production came before the All-Star break and fantasy owners should be wary of selecting him too high. Although he was a 20-20 hitter, he hit 18 of 23 homers and accumulated 16 of 21 steals before the break.3/24/2015 10:03:00 AM
Glen PerkinsSPTwins closer Glen Perkins said he is at full strength after dealing with an oblique strain earlier this month. If he truly is past the injury, Perkins is an under-the-radar option at the closer position, heading into the 2015 campaign.3/21/2015 4:04:00 PM
Glen PerkinsSPTwins closer Glen Perkins has what appears to be an oblique strain and will not throw Monday, according to beat reporter Rhett Bollinger. This is always a tricky injury and he could be out for a week or so, but should still be ready to start the season.3/9/2015 2:33:00 PM
Mike PelfreySPTwins right-hander Mike Pelfrey went two innings and allowed one run on Saturday. The run was unearned. Pelfrey will likely begin the season in Minnesota's rotation, but we do not have high hopes for him in 2015.3/7/2015 5:22:00 PM
Joe Mauer1BThe Twins will hire Paul Molitor as their next manager, according to Patrick Reusse of 1500ESPN.He was the favorite and will take over Ron Gardenhire. Molitor will be the third manager in franchise history.11/1/2014 12:05:00 PM
Trevor Plouffe3BTwins third baseman Trevor Plouffe underwent surgery to repair his fractured left forearm according to Mike Berardino of the St. Paul Pioneer Press.Plouffe originally thought he wasn't going to need the surgery, but a second opinion convinced him to receive it. He should be ready for spring training.9/29/2014 5:33:00 PM

Josh ReddickRFAthletics outfielder Josh Reddick (oblique) is unlikely to ready for Opening Day.He is trending in the right direction, but will likely miss the start of the season. However, Reddick should be back by the middle of April.3/27/2015 4:28:00 PM
Tyler ClippardRPOakland setup man,Tyler Clippard, will serve as closer until injured Sean Doolittle is ready to return, according to manager Bob Melvin. We always expected as much. Clippard should rack up a few saves until Doolittle (shoulder) returns, probably in late April or early May. He had 32 saves in a closing role back in 2012 for the Nationals.3/27/2015 3:59:00 PM
Sean DoolittleRPAthletics closer Sean Doolittle is expected to begin throwing this week according to MLB.com.Doolittle is recovering from a small tear in his rotator cuff. Doolittle should return around the beginning of May.3/25/2015 3:38:00 PM
Coco CrispCFAthletics center fielder Coco Crisp (soreness in arm) was scratched from Tuesday's contest.Oakland is just being extra cautious with Crisp. He is not in danger of missing Opening Day, so consider him day-to-day for now.3/24/2015 4:46:00 PM
Josh ReddickRFAthletics outfielder Josh Reddick, shut down for the two weeks due to a right oblique strain, has begun to work his way back, by soft tossing. This type of injury can come back if not taken care of. He's obviously questionable to be ready for Opening Day.3/24/2015 1:58:00 PM
Barry ZitoSPVeteran lefthander Barry Zito, who signed a minor league deal with the Oakland A's, may have pitched his way into the starting rotation this spring, according to Joe Stiglich of csnbayarea.com.Zito won 15 games with the Giants as recently as 2012, but hasn't been a fantasy-worthy starter since leaving Oakland in 2006. He's pitched 11 2/3 inning this spring with a 3.09 ERA and a 9:1 strikeout to walk ratio.3/21/2015 10:28:00 AM
Sam FuldLFAthletics outfielder Sam Fuld was nailed with a pitch on Friday, but X-rays on his jaw were negative.Fuld is likely to be the A's fourth outfielder and he's only going to help fantasy owners in one category - steals. He can be left off your roster on draft day.3/21/2015 10:25:00 AM
Ben Zobrist2BOakland infielder Ben Zobrist was scratched from Monday's contest with shoulder tightness. The good news is that Zobrist told reporters he would be able to play if it were a regular season game. Zobrist will be fine for Opening Day.3/16/2015 4:39:00 PM
Jarrod ParkerSPAthletics starter Jarrod Parker (Tommy John surgery last March) threw to five hitters in batting practice on Friday.Parker is certainly progressing well in his rehab, but fantasy owners shouldn't expect him to return before mid-season. The 26-year-old posted a 12-8 record in 2013 with a 3.97 ERA and 1.223 WHIP.3/14/2015 1:20:00 PM
Coco CrispCFAthletics center fielder Coco Crisp left Sunday's s Cactus League game after two innings due to a lower triceps strain. We always worry when the injury-prone outfielder is sidelined. Hopefully this won't keep him out too ling. He batted a disappointing .246 last season with nine homers, 47 RBI, 68 runs and 19 steals. Fantasy owners want more than that from him.3/9/2015 2:35:00 PM
