Joe Mauer1BThe Twins will hire Paul Molitor as their next manager, according to Patrick Reusse of 1500ESPN.He was the favorite and will take over Ron Gardenhire. Molitor will be the third manager in franchise history.11/1/2014 12:05:00 PM
Trevor Plouffe3BTwins third baseman Trevor Plouffe underwent surgery to repair his fractured left forearm according to Mike Berardino of the St. Paul Pioneer Press.Plouffe originally thought he wasn't going to need the surgery, but a second opinion convinced him to receive it. He should be ready for spring training.9/29/2014 5:33:00 PM
Joe Mauer1BTwins first baseman Joe Mauer is not a good fantasy start on the last day of the season. Not many are against Tigers pitcher David Price, but Mauer is just 3-for-20 against Price in his career. One of those hits is a double while Mauer also has two RBI, four walks and six strikeouts against the Tiger lefty.9/28/2014 9:53:00 AM
Tommy MiloneSPTwins starter Tommy Milone threw a scoreless inning in his return to the mound on Saturday.Milone had not pitched since Sept. 2 due to shoulder fatigue and a neck injury. He did not receive another start, but the scoreless inning is encouraging. Milone finishes the year with a 6-4 record and 4.19 ERA in 118 innings.9/28/2014 9:18:00 AM
Brian Dozier2BTwins second baseman Brian Dozier goes 2-for-6 with a homer Saturday versus Detroit. It was his 23rd of the year, and now is hitting .244/.347/.419 with 71 RBI. Dozier has made for great value for fantasy owners in 2014.9/27/2014 10:42:00 PM
Eduardo EscobarSS/3BTwins infielder Eduardo Escobar has monster night. Not only did he hit his sixth homer rof the year, but Escobar also had six RBI on a 4-for-5 night. Not a bad way to end a season.9/27/2014 10:40:00 PM
Ricky NolascoSPTwins starter Ricky Nolasco wins sixth game of season. In his final start of 2014, Nolasco went six innings, allowing two runs on five hits and two walks, and struck out six. It has not been a good year, however (6-12, 5.38 ERA). Nolasco will look to rebound in 2015.9/27/2014 10:38:00 PM
Phil HughesSPTwins starter Phil Hughes turned down an opportunity to pitch this weekend to reach his 210 innings quota and earn a $500,000 bonus according to MLB.com.That's a head scratcher. Hughes pitched eight innings on Tuesday before the game was stopped due to rain, which ultimately left Hughes 1/3 inning short of 210 on the season. Minnesota offered to let him pitch this weekend to receive the bonus, but he turned it down. If you really don't need the money Hughes, I'll take a half a million bucks. In all seriousness, Hughes has been excellent this year, posting a 16-10 record with a 3.52 ERA and 186 strikeouts versus just 16 walks.9/25/2014 5:00:00 PM
Trevor Plouffe3BTwins third baseman Trevor Plouffe tweeted on Thursday that he will not need surgery to repair his fractured left forearm.Plouffe broke his forearm on Wednesday when A.J. Pollock's leg hit his arm on a slide at third base. He will not need surgery but will be in a cast for six-to-eight weeks. We expect him to be fine for spring training next year.9/25/2014 4:20:00 PM
Kurt SuzukiCIt is a small sample size, but Twins catcher Kurt Suzuki is a career .400 (4-for-10) hitter against Tigers starting pitcher Max Scherzer. The catcher also has a home run in his 10 at-bats. Prior to his 0-for-3 on Tuesday, Suzuki had hits in his previous nine games.9/25/2014 10:32:00 AM

Martin Prado3BThe Marlins have traded for 3B/OF Martin Prado, RHP David Phelps, and cash considerations in exchange for RHP Nathan Eovaldi, 1B/OF Garrett Jones, and RHP Domingo German.Prado will likely mad third base for Miami, sending Casey McGehee to a reserve role. Prado could be a sneaky option come draft day.12/19/2014 4:56:00 PM
Mat LatosSPThe Cincinnati Reds have traded starter Mat Latos to the Miami Marlins.Latos was 5-5 with a 3.25 ERA and a 1.153 WHIP in 16 starts this season, but heads to a very pitcher-friendly Marlins Park and could be an undervalued selection this spring.12/11/2014 2:43:00 PM
Andrew HeaneySPThe Los Angeles Dodgers have traded for left-hander Andrew Heaney. He is the main piece the Dodgers will be getting in return for Dee Gordon and Dan Haren. Heaney was the top prospect in Miami's organization, and he will have a chance to open up the season in Los Angeles' rotation. Kike Hernandez, Chris Hatcher, and Austin Barnes are also headed to the Dodgers.12/10/2014 7:27:00 PM
Dan HarenSPDan Haren could enjoy throwing in pitcher-friendly Miami Park, but may retire instead of reporting.Haren was 13-11 with a 4.02 ERA and 1.18 WHIP. There is a lot of pitching talent on Miami, particularly if Jose Fernandez comes back and Haren doesn't have a guaranteed spot in the rotation.12/11/2014 3:01:00 PM
Dee Gordon2BThe Los Angeles Dodgers have traded second baseman Dee Gordon to the Miami Marlins, according to Andy Martino of the New York Daily News. The Dodgers will reportedly get top prospect Andrew Heaney in return, and it is possible Dan Haren could be headed to Miami in the deal as well. We will let you know once we learn of all the specifics.12/10/2014 6:52:00 PM
Jarrod SaltalamacchiaCMiami catcher Jarrod Saltalmacchia will sit for the finale.J.T. Realmuto gets the start today. Salty finishes 2014 with a .220/.320/.363 line, along with 11 homeruns and 44 RBI. There are better options at catcher heading into 2015.9/28/2014 11:11:00 AM
Garrett Jones1BMarlins first baseman Garrett Jones should be avoided in his Saturday matchup with Stephen Strasburg.Jones is just 1-for-18 with half the at-bats ending in strikeout. He's batted .248 this season with 15 HR and 53 RBI and does have eight hits in the last three games, but an extremely unfavorable matchup.9/27/2014 10:21:00 AM
Tom KoehlerSPMiami right-hander Tom Koehler picks up 10th win Thursday versus Philadelphia. He went seven innings, allowing four runs on eight hits, while striking out seven. He finishes the year at 10-10 with a 3.81 ERA. Steve Cishek closed the door for Koehler, with his 39th save.9/25/2014 7:21:00 PM
Brad HandSPMarlins pitcher Brad Hand pitches well in no-decision.He matched Phillies' starter Kyle Kendrick, going seven innings of one-run ball, on six hits and struck out two. Hand has been shuffled between reliever and starter this season, and is 3-8 with a 4.38 ERA.9/24/2014 10:12:00 PM
Steve CishekRPMarlins closer Steve Cishek earned his 38th save of 2014 on Tuesday. He did give up two hits, and brought the go-ahead run to the plate, but Cishek was able to get Grady Sizemore to ground out, and Darin Ruf to strikeout, to end the game. Cishek has been a steal of a closer this year in fantasy.9/23/2013 9:37:00 PM
