Trevor Plouffe3BTwins third baseman Trevor Plouffe underwent surgery to repair his fractured left forearm according to Mike Berardino of the St. Paul Pioneer Press.Plouffe originally thought he wasn't going to need the surgery, but a second opinion convinced him to receive it. He should be ready for spring training.9/29/2014 5:33:00 PM
Joe Mauer1BTwins first baseman Joe Mauer is not a good fantasy start on the last day of the season. Not many are against Tigers pitcher David Price, but Mauer is just 3-for-20 against Price in his career. One of those hits is a double while Mauer also has two RBI, four walks and six strikeouts against the Tiger lefty.9/28/2014 9:53:00 AM
Tommy MiloneSPTwins starter Tommy Milone threw a scoreless inning in his return to the mound on Saturday.Milone had not pitched since Sept. 2 due to shoulder fatigue and a neck injury. He did not receive another start, but the scoreless inning is encouraging. Milone finishes the year with a 6-4 record and 4.19 ERA in 118 innings.9/28/2014 9:18:00 AM
Brian Dozier2BTwins second baseman Brian Dozier goes 2-for-6 with a homer Saturday versus Detroit. It was his 23rd of the year, and now is hitting .244/.347/.419 with 71 RBI. Dozier has made for great value for fantasy owners in 2014.9/27/2014 10:42:00 PM
Eduardo EscobarSS/3BTwins infielder Eduardo Escobar has monster night. Not only did he hit his sixth homer rof the year, but Escobar also had six RBI on a 4-for-5 night. Not a bad way to end a season.9/27/2014 10:40:00 PM
Ricky NolascoSPTwins starter Ricky Nolasco wins sixth game of season. In his final start of 2014, Nolasco went six innings, allowing two runs on five hits and two walks, and struck out six. It has not been a good year, however (6-12, 5.38 ERA). Nolasco will look to rebound in 2015.9/27/2014 10:38:00 PM
Phil HughesSPTwins starter Phil Hughes turned down an opportunity to pitch this weekend to reach his 210 innings quota and earn a $500,000 bonus according to MLB.com.That's a head scratcher. Hughes pitched eight innings on Tuesday before the game was stopped due to rain, which ultimately left Hughes 1/3 inning short of 210 on the season. Minnesota offered to let him pitch this weekend to receive the bonus, but he turned it down. If you really don't need the money Hughes, I'll take a half a million bucks. In all seriousness, Hughes has been excellent this year, posting a 16-10 record with a 3.52 ERA and 186 strikeouts versus just 16 walks.9/25/2014 5:00:00 PM
Trevor Plouffe3BTwins third baseman Trevor Plouffe tweeted on Thursday that he will not need surgery to repair his fractured left forearm.Plouffe broke his forearm on Wednesday when A.J. Pollock's leg hit his arm on a slide at third base. He will not need surgery but will be in a cast for six-to-eight weeks. We expect him to be fine for spring training next year.9/25/2014 4:20:00 PM
Kurt SuzukiCIt is a small sample size, but Twins catcher Kurt Suzuki is a career .400 (4-for-10) hitter against Tigers starting pitcher Max Scherzer. The catcher also has a home run in his 10 at-bats. Prior to his 0-for-3 on Tuesday, Suzuki had hits in his previous nine games.9/25/2014 10:32:00 AM
Phil HughesSPTwins starter Phil Hughes pitches gem against Arizona. He only needed 96 pitches to get through eight innings. Hughes had five strikeouts and let up only one run, on five hits. He is now 16-10 with a respectable 3.52 ERA.9/24/2014 6:13:00 PM

He admitted that he felt a little bit of tightness in his oblique, but Shoemaker said he feels like he can pitch through it. The Angels are planning to start Jered Weaver and C.J. Josh HamiltonLFAngels left fielder Josh Hamilton (shoulder) will take batting practice on Monday according to Orange County Register.Hamilton will also take batting practice on Tuesday and hopefully face live pitching on Wednesday. Mike TroutCFAngels center fielder Mike Trout is hitting .383 (18-for-47) with seven extra-base hits and 11 RBI against Mariners ace Felix Hernandez.Trout's OPS against Hernandez is 1.063, so we wouldn't be afraid to plug Trout into the fantasy lineup even with King Felix on the mound.9/28/2014 10:17:00 AM
C.J. WilsonSPAngels starter C.J. Wilson threw six innings and allowed one run on four hits in a no-decision against the Mariners on Saturday. It did not really matter what the result was for Wilson as long as he threw a good game. He lasted just two-thirds of an inning in his last outing against the Athletics and likely wanted to correct his mistakes before the playoffs. Wilson finishes the regular season 13-10 with a 4.54 ERA and is expected to start Game 2 of the ALDS.9/28/2014 9:26:00 AM
Josh HamiltonLFAngels left fielder Josh Hamilton will resume swinging a bat on Saturday.Hamilton has played just one game since Sept. 5. Hamilton is hitting .263 with 10 home runs and 44 RBI.9/26/2014 8:55:00 PM
Mike TroutCFAngels center fielder Mike Trout is just a .174 hitter (4-for-23) against Seattle right-hander Hisashi Iwakuma. He was 1-for-2 with a stolen base and run scored, before leaving Wednesday's game in the fifth inning due to a stomach illness, but should be fine. This isn't a favorable matchup although Iwakuma has been pitching poorly of late.9/26/2014 11:33:00 AM
